Learning the Adobe and Microsoft Apps
Have you tried to learn programs like Photoshop or Word, but felt overwhelmed in the process? It’s not you – these apps are vast and confusing, especially if you’re just getting started. There’s no formula to learning any of these heavyweights, other than blocks of time and a good tutor who is skilled at imparting useful knowledge.
Many tutorials you find online don’t explain why certain techniques are used so it becomes difficult to know when to use them in another scenario. That’s why when I teach, I show you what’s going on “under the hood”, rather than give you recipes. I’ll show you what a feature or tool was intended to do so you can get predictable results, rather than guess-and-hope-for-the-best. I like to use the example of knowing the difference between a screwdriver and a jackhammer. Both have a tip on them, but which one would you use to drive a screw in the wall to hang a painting? When you know the tools, you’ll be able to get the results you want, time and time again.
